CARE Expert, as a part of the CARE Österreich website, provides access to more detailed project-related information, policies and guidelines to „expert users“ such as donor representatives, partners, peer agencies, researchers, academics, special interest groups and any other interested individuals. CARE Expert provides resources and downloads almost exclusively in English.

CARE Österreich has commited itself to make detailed project information and programmatic policies publicly available. CARE Österreich is foremost accountable to its primary stakeholders („beneficiaries“) in the projects, but also to its partners, to its institutional, corporate and individual donors. This accountability includes the right of all stakeholders to have access to specific project-related and organizational information.

CARE Österreich
Since 1986 CARE Österreich has been successfully supporting and implementing development and humanitarian assistance projects/programmes on all continents, particularly in Southern and East Africa and the Great Lakes Regions, South and South East Asia, the Middle East and South/East Europe and the CIS. Up to now CARE Österreich has secured funds for more than 360 projects, implemented in 50 countries, benefiting millions of vulnerable people.

Since 1995 CARE Österreich has effectively managed more than 90 EuropeAid and ECHO grants & service contracts. In 2021 CARE Österreich has managed a total of 67 projects in 20 countries worldwide. CARE Österreich project costs amounted to EUR 27.37 million. Of this 55.77 % was used for emergency relief and 44.23 % for development cooperation. CARE Österreich’s total revenue was EUR 41.14 million, thereof 50.12 % EU public funds, 30.86 % private donations, 19.01 % domestic public funds and other institutions and 0.01 % other. 

CARE Österreich is a valued partner of the European Commission’s department for International Partnerships (DG INTPA) and the European Commission’s Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid department (ECHO, EU Humanitarian Partnership Certificate 2021-2027), the Austrian Development Agency, various UN organizations and other development actors recognized for effective project cycle and contract management as well as high quality assurance.

In addition, on an annual basis CARE Österreich subjects itself to the Austrian NGO audit and accountability certification process, the so called „Spendengütesiegel“ which certifies that an NGO complies with a set of quality standards in the fields of acquisition and administration of donations. Since 2003 CÖ has continuously qualified for the Spendengütesiegel.

Since 2013 the audit has been performed by PriceWaterhouseCoopers.
